Lula Davis – Board Vice Chair: Currently Co Chair of FACES, retired from Dept of Veteran Affairs 2009. MSN and MBA degrees from Marymount University. Susie Lemar – Board Treasurer: I am married almost 28 years to a wonderful man who works in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to our marriage, I was a single mom and experienced many forms of government and military assistance, having two jobs and attending school. My family is a military family – grandfather in the army, mother in the Navy Reserves, father in the Navy; retiring as Master Chief, as well as my former husband in the Navy.
We moved constantly around the US and ended up in California; finally moving myself and two kids to the East Coast: home mainly. With only a GED and a few college credits to my name, I was able to become Director of Administration and Operations for BT Ginns (now Office Depot) Business Furniture Division. I then became Assistant Controller and Systems Admin for Laidlaw Waste Systems (now Waste Management) which, at the time, was a huge company with divisions all over North America. I was grateful for the opportunity and being promoted to Corporate Instructor. I dabbled a bit in Real Estate creating my own marketing company specifically for Realtors – doing graphic design, websites, logos, business cards, etc. By 2012 I was blessed to be able to step away from the working world and focus on the work inside my home. My husband just accepted a new job in North Carolina in 2021 so our adventure and next chapter is yet to be written.
I volunteer because others volunteered for me. Plain and simple. Thank you FACES volunteers and
workers for all you do in the community. I am proud to be a part of it.
Eva Lowery – Board Secretary: Eva Lowery rejoined the FACES Board in January 2022 and serves as the Board’s secretary. She previously served on the Board for nine years. Eva represents First Baptist Church – Fuquay where she serves in may capacities. She is been married to Rev. Dr. Reginald U. Lowery for 42 years. Together, they have served First Baptist Church for 14 years. Eva has been employed by Wake Med Health and Hospitals for the past 21 years.
Rev. Robert Thomas – Board Member: I was born in 1950, and was raised Roman Catholic, I later joined the Franciscans where I found love and joy in the Eucharist, Sacrament of Reconciliation and daily self-examines. I realized that God was showing us His boundless love and calling us to be a part of that love.  As a deacon in the Episcopal church, my life’s call is to live out the Franciscan values of peacemaking, service to and justice for the poor and oppressed.

I am married to my wonderful wife Cyn and we have two sons, born 17 years apart, Doug, the younger, lives in Providence, RI. Bill, our first born, is living in Delaware with his wife, Margaret, their daughter Stephanie, my granddaughter who lives in the Seattle, Washington area with Daric, made me a great-grandfather about eleven years ago.

My work today is principally secular, having just finished church-based ministry as deacon at Trinity Episcopal Church here in Fuquay-Varina, where I served as co-head of the parish’s Outreach Committee. I am currently serving in the Episcopal Church as Dean of the Raleigh Convocation, while awaiting assignment from the Bishop.
Daphne Hamilton Jackson – Board Member: Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone (West Africa) ; a productive, responsible, registered voter and a grateful citizen. I have lived in Fuquay Varina for over 30 years.I am a proud graduate from North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. I have a plethora of nursing experience in the healthcare field.
I am a North Carolina Notary Public and a CPR instructor. I am a member of Trinity Episcopal church Fuquay Varina, married to my wonderful husband for 41years. I have three daughters, who are now professional adults  contributing to society at large; with six grandchildren.
